The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor

Back Cover:
                             Murder. Bloodshed. War.

The true story of Wonderland ...
Alyss was destined to become Wonderland's beloved Queen. Until her life was shattered. Seeing her parents killed she seeks refuge in our world. Years later she returns. Her evil aunt now rules the land. Shrieking Seekers command the air. And deep in the darkness something far more frightening is watching. And waiting.

Review: And you thought Wonderland was the place where children's fairy tales took place? Check again. Alyss in Wonderland is the ferocious, bloody, devastating story of what really happened in Wonderland. If you can't handle the truth, then by all means, read "Alice in Wonderland" - for those of you who are made of stronger stuff, Frank Beddor's "Looking Glass Wars" is the way to go.

I thoroughly enjoyed this chronicle of Wonderland's prodigal warrior princess. Through her eyes, the world of Wonderland came to life in a way that I never thought possible. The imagination and mind-twisting ideas in this book are brilliant. This was an awesomely fun book to read!

Looking forward to reading the next two books in the series: "Seeing Redd" and "ArchEnemy".

  4. I've had this book on my TBR for quite a while. I love retellings of classics/fairy tales, etc. I also feel like reading the original Alice- maybe I'll start there and try this series. I'm also really excited about "Alice in Zombieland" which is coming out soon.
