This book handled some really tough topics and did not shy away from some really dark images - from the fate of Liliana's family when she was captured to the abuse her captors inflicted upon her. While the descriptions were not explicit, they were enough that I would cautious young teans or those who are very sensitive. Overall though this book was amazing and I devoured it in a sitting. It gets a high rating from me!
